On the afternoon of May 29th, the 2008 Haiyan-Hong Kong Investment Promotion Seminar for Service Industry (Tertiary Industry) was held by the People¡¯s Government of Haiyan County at Langham Place Hotel in Hong Kong. Over 50 members of all circles in Hong Kong including Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Zhejiang Provincial United Association, Hong Kong Jiaxing Association, Hong Kong Haiyan Association, Hong Kong Screw & Fasteners Council, Winner Group International (HK) Ltd., etc. were invited and attended the seminar. As the first investment promotion seminar held in Hong Kong, it successfully introduced Hangzhou Bay Bridge to Hong Kong and made remarkable effect.
This Investment Promotion Seminar for Service Industry (Tertiary Industry) elaborately introduced 14 projects involving port logistics industry, shipbuilding industry, leisure and tourism industry and coastal real estate industry to the Hong Kong business circle, including the comprehensive exploitation project integrated with vacation, relaxation and tourism at Huangshawu Reclamation Area of Nanbei Lake with a planning area of 15 square kilometers, the development project at No.1 Plot of Binhai New Town with a planning area of 1800 mu, the yacht building project, the commercial street project at Qiyuan Cultural Zone, the logistics project at 10000-ton public dock at Daqiao New Area, etc. All these projects deeply attracted the participants from all circles and they all said that they would make the opportunity to pay a visit to Haiyan for investment survey.
Haiyan¡¯s first Investment Promotion Seminar for Service Industry (Tertiary Industry) in Hong Kong also received attention from Hong Kong media. The Wen Wei Po used three full pages and half of the news section in succession to introduce Haiyan¡¯s economic profile, industry fundamentals, cultural deposits, tourism resources, development prospects, etc. with details, which made significant rise of Haiyan¡¯s popularity in Hong Kong. Mr. Liu Manjun, the Associate Managing Editor of Wen Wei Po, expressed that Haiyan is a new coastal city beside Hangzhou Bay with great potential and as for its coastal comprehensive development, Haiyan can refer to the mature coastal development mode of Hong Kong, which can provide very good reference for the coastal development strategy of Haiyan.
